Who is ISO? The International Organizations for Standardization and the headquarters are located in Geneva Switzerland. ISO in the term ISO 9000 was dervied from EQUAL as in ISOMETRIC, ISOTHERM, ISOBAR, not International Standards Organization. It was developed so that all nations would be able to compete in the world markets, and developed and provide for the standardization of Quality Systems. It is based on the Control of Quality Systems, Control of nonconforming material, Internal Auditing, Management Review and Corrective And Preventative Actions, which all lead to, and coordinate with, Continuous Improvement. The ISO 9000 series consists of five International Standards of Quality Management and Quality Assurance. They are ISO 9000, 9001, 9002, 9003, and 9004. The three models for Quality systems are ISO 9001, ISO 9002, and ISO 9003. Kayem Foods is ISO 9001 registered. The difference between ISO 9001 and 9002 is the Design Review element. Along with other companies which produce products, we Design and produce our products. The Scope of ISO ISO 9000 is a compliance program, which means Say What You Do (Policies and Procedures), Do What You Say (Your Actions), Prove It (Your Records). ISO 9000 tells you what to do, not how to do it. We are moving from regional and national economics into a worldwide economy, as we do, there in a need for a Standard Quality System. To date, there are 114 nations that have adopted ISO 9000. We here at Kayem Foods are very proud to be the first Frankfurt and Deli Processed Meat Manufacturer to become and continue to remain ISO 9001 Compliant, we will continue to improve our Quality System and our products. Kayem Quality System Our committment is to continually improve our quality systems and products to meet our customer's requirements. All of our employees are trained to understand our Quality System under ISO standards. They are also trained to written procedures pertaining to the jobs they perform. All our employees are encouraged to suggest improvements to the operations and procedures they perform. They are also empowered to "Stop the Line" if they become aware of a nonconforming condition.
